Simply Legacy 1.1 Pre-Release 3
Updated Legacy Ports and Reset Albums
Some of the packs have been updated by 4J Studios to support The Copper Age (equivalent to JE 1.21.9+). Other have seen core shader fixes.
Brandon has also figured out how to get spaces working in the auto-publish script for the ports. In Pre-Release 2, some of these packs had dashes instead of spaces, so the albums had to be changed to reflect that. Since the albums had to be reverted to the previous naming scheme, for simplicity's sake, all built-in Resource Albums will be reset. User-added albums will not be affected.
Extended default Notification Time back to 1.0x
Since the "Press [X] to view" instruction was previously shown too quickly for a new player to react, so the Advancements menu wouldn't open. Now it should be shown long enough for this not to be as much of an issue. If you'd like to change this on an existing instance, go to Help & Options > Settings > Game Options > Show Advanced Options > Notification Time
Minor update to versioning scheme
x.x.0versions will now be shortenedx.x- The loader/game version will now only be shown on the Modrinth version name. Changelogs and update announcements will exclude this info unless it's important to note.
Simply Legacy 1.1.0 Pre-Release 2 for Fabric 1.21.10
Updated Legacy4J
Various bug fixes and SD Mode additions
Updated Legacy Ports
A few of the ports have been updated to fix some current and potential core shader issues
Hotbar Attack Indicator by default
Ensures the attack indicator should now be visible on vanilla servers, or with Legacy Combat disabled
Moved server.dat to Configured Defaults
This should allow people to add servers themselves without having them be deleted every update. The Re-Console SMP is also now set to ask for resource pack download by default (as enabling the pack added the shop item but removed recipes that were added recently)
Simply Legacy 1.1.0 Pre-Release 1 for Fabric 1.21.10
Updated Legacy4J
Legacy4J has finally been updated to stable! Simply Legacy will only ship with stable Legacy4J going forward. 1.1.0 will fully release once both Minimega and Legacy Skins ship for this version on Legacy4J.
Updated Legacy Ports
This notably fixes the sky colors in the Halloween Texture Pack
Simply Legacy 1.0.3 for Fabric 1.21.10
Updated LCE Ports
Now, all of Brandon's LCE Ports can load under 1.21.10! This means that, minus Super Mario, all Texture Packs/Mash-ups should at least be able to load now.
Updated Resource Albums (for new installs only)
All resource albums have been updated to include Console Aspects and Legacy Waters under the labeled texture pack. This is to ensure consistency (mainly soundtrack wise) with the default pack. The Minecraft Classic album is unaffected.
Updated mods
BadOptimizations updated to 2.4.0, Legacy4J updated to 1.8.5-2548.1 (notably fixing the crosshair issue @ 1080p)
Simply Legacy 1.0.2 for Fabric 1.21.10
Updated Legacy4J
This notably adds:
- Options Presets
- Fake Autosave Screen and Legacy Potions Bar options
- New control icons for various control types (courtesy of myself and @702197663810191451)
- New World Template features:
- Template worlds now download when the World Template is selected. This massively speeds up the first load time, as previously all template worlds downloaded on launch if not installed .
- Templates can have an assigned Resource Album
- Fixed SDL3 native downloads Note: If you are using the Full HD UI Mode (i.e. you play at 1080p), the crosshair will be quite a bit off-center, so I recommend setting the UI Mode to "HD (720p)" for now until the issue is fixed
Updated Legacy Worlds
Speaking of World Templates, templates now pre-select their corresponding Texture Pack! All templates are locked, so currently, if the pack is unavailable, the template will be locked to the Minecraft Texture Pack until changed in-game. This should hopefully be fixed in the next L4J update
Updated all mods
Besides these, Crash Assistant, EMF/ETF, and the Festive Mash-up have been updated to their latest versions.
Fixes the default "Toggle Use" Controller option being ON instead of OFF (Overlooked since Toggle Use/Attack don't work for controller on the L4J beta Simply Legacy uses)
If you've installed 1.0.0, disable Toggle Use in your Controller options, as this option will work once the pack updates to L4J stable
Simply Legacy 1.0.0 for Fabric 1.21.10
Since this is the first release, I will mainly be going over what this pack is in relation to Re-Console.
Legacy4J First
Simply Legacy is built with Legacy4J front-and-center. This means that a good amount of the OptiFine feature set, as well as quality of life and social-related mods are excluded.
Not everything is gone, of course: EMF/ETF are included for texture pack support, borderless fullscreen to play with a controller on a second monitor (Force Active Window should be on by default), and the pack absolutely flies in terms of performance.
Don't worry, you can still add these mods back if you'd like.
Focused Update Strategy
The pack will be using a single version-single loader strategy to ensure that installing/updating requires zero thought. Clicking "Update pack" in Prism, for example, guarantees that you'd be getting the best version of the pack, rather than a version that is said to not have everything. Updates will be closely tied to the latest stable non-LTS Legacy4J updates, as well as any major updates to other mods. (1.0.x versions will be based on an L4J beta, 1.8.5.2545.5, 1.1.0+ will be based on the next L4J stable release)
No Minigames or Skins by default
To allow the pack to update quickly with Legacy4J, the Minimega and Legacy Skins mods are excluded by default. They can easily be added back if you know they're supported under the modloader and Minecraft version present in a specific Simply Legacy release.
Animatium and Stfu Included
- Animatium brings some of the visual elements and cough animation logic from previous versions of Minecraft, and therefore LCE, to the latest version of the game.
- Stfu removes advancement messages from chat by default, removes chat signature boxes, fixes model gaps and disables the experimental world message.
