This project is a TEMPORARY fork of the existing MCEF mod by ds58, because they don't seem to have much time right now to keep it up-to-date. I decided to create this fork to be able to have builds for modern Minecraft versions, because I need them for my own projects, like FancyMenu.

I do not want to cause any harm with this fork and the decision to fork MCEF at all was not easy for me. I tried to contact ds58 for over a month, but with no success, so I sadly wasn't able to ask them for permission first (which is not needed due to MCEF's license anyways, but I don't like forking other people's work without them being okay with that).

Prior to forking MCEF, I also made a PR in MCEF's GitHub repo for adding stable support for MC 1.21.5, which was merged over two months ago. After that PR got merged, ds58 reached out to me and we had a talk about MCEF's future and I told them I would update the mod for them to support all new versions after MC 1.21.5 as well, but they said they want to get something else ready first to be able to ship it with the next build of MCEF (upgrading CEF, which MCEF uses). This was okay for me, but after that, nothing really happened anymore. Since this chat with them, more than 2 months passed and well, I tried to ask them if they wouldn't like to release builds for new MC versions first and then continue working on the CEF upgrade, since many users were waiting for it already, but this question never got an answer. Also all of my following messages never got any answers.

It is very important to note that I absolutely don't blame them for anything! Stuff can happen in RL that can shift the focus from hobbies like modding and I absolutely understand that. The only reason I forked MCEF is because I really need it for my own projects.

Also, as soon as ds58's MCEF gets new builds, I will archive the builds of my temporary fork. This fork is not meant to replace ds58's MCEF, it's just a "workaround" until the original MCEF gets updated!

*Some antivirus software may prevent MCEF from initializing. You may have to disable your antivirus or whitelist the mod files for MCEF to work properly.

**This mod will not work on Android.
