I'm back!
- Gear: with the Vanilla game officially adding Copper Armor and Tools, my versions of those items have been permanently removed from the pack. Copper Spears remain, although those too will be removed later this year alongside all my other spears, as the base game will be adding THOSE too! It's funny how Mojang is just adding things from my Vanilla+ pack to the actual game this year haha
- Food: I've added a new food item: Milk Bottles! You can craft three of these at a time using a milk bucket and three glass bottles. However, their max stack size is only 3. It's designed this way to make the benefits of milk a little easier to use, but not terribly overpowered! Because of this, the Chocolate Milk item I added last year has been rebalanced to only stack to 1 due to its slightly better food stats.
- Advancements: I've added an entirely new Vanilla+ category of advancements to the game! You'll unlock this branch upon getting your first Baked Apple, and several advancements that were already in the pack have been moved over here, along with getting all new advancements to go with them!
- Misc. Changes: because I'm a perfectionist and I play using Subtitles turned on, I was getting annoyed at seeing "Footsteps" every time I equipped my Amethyst Armor, so all of my custom items that would show subtitles now have the correct descriptions! This of course works in both English and Mexican Spanish. Also, due to a bug that I can't figure out, the Stormy Flute item has been temporarily removed from the pack. It and the Sunny Flute may leave forever soon, but I haven't decided.
Another small update for you all!
Not much here on the main front, but over at Vanilla++ I've fixed some structures and added a couple new items! However, the new stuff here is...
- Food: DONUTS! I've added 7 variants of donuts to the game, and you unlock their recipes after picking up bread for the first time! These are the normal Donut, Apple Donut, Chocolate Iced Donut, Chocolate Cake Donut, and Cream Filled, Sweet Berry Filled, and Glow Berry Filled Donuts.
Iron Hammer, Tweaked textures, 3D Food, and Mexican Spanish support!
This update is small in terms of new features, but I've also manually translated every item in the data pack into Mexican Spanish! Read more below.
- Iron Hammer: this is crafted with 5 iron blocks and 2 sticks. It's meant to be reminiscent of an early game Mace, but its real advantage is that it can be used as both a tool and a weapon. It has the capabilities of an Iron Pickaxe with double the durability, but its only supported enchantments are for the Pickaxe aspect of it. However, it has an attack speed between Swords and Axes, and deals some base knockback!
- 3D Food: I'm in the process of making 3D models for every food item in the game! These are accessed by renaming the food in an anvil and adding "Dish" (or in Spanish, "Plato") after the name! You can place them in item frames so that the frame is completely covered. This is inspired by resource packs that feature 3D food! See the image below on how to do it.

- Texture Changes: With the announcement of Copper Armor and Tools coming to the base game, I've changed the item textures to match the Vanilla textures. I've also changed the model textures for Copper and Emerald Armor. Side note, the Copper Gear in this pack WILL BE REMOVED once it is added to the Vanilla game.
- Spanish Translations: In real life, I'm studying Spanish, so I decided to manually translate every item and advancement in my data pack to Mexican Spanish! Now, when you turn on "Español (MS)" in Minecraft, any item crafted after this update will now be translated into Spanish!
Some Texture changes and an Item Removal
The changelog on this end will be short and sweet, but head on over to Vanilla++ to learn about all the stuff that this new version helps to add over there!
- Changes for Some Nintendo Items: Previously, I had the Mushrooms from Mario and the Ocarinas from Zelda. After lots of feedback on the YouTube video I made, I've decided to revamp these, but not remove them entirely. The mushrooms are now more Vanilla Minecraft-inspired, being called "Mutated" forms of 4 fungi from the game. They still function the exact same. As for the Ocarinas, those are now called Flutes and have been retextured accordingly. The Music Disc "stal" uses flutes in its instrumentation, so I thought it would be fine to keep them. I AM debating removing them, but let me know what you think about that and if a lot of you actually use these items during normal play or not. I have elected not to remove the Nintendo hats, as those are almost entirely meant to be used in multiplayer, and since they don't add unique functions/abilities I see no need to get rid of them.
- Heart Container Removed: after taking some things into consideration, I've decided to permanently remove the Heart Container item from the pack. I'm sorry to anyone who liked it, but I wasn't satisfied with its implementation, and I couldn't figure out how to have a good cap on its abilities. However, if you want a way to kinda-sorta permanently upgrade your max health and you don't use this pack on Realms, head on over to Vanilla++, where I've added a new enchantment for Chestplates and Elytras that upgrades your max health!
Food and Advancements!
This is a pretty small update, but nevertheless there's a couple new food items and some new advancement changes!
- Food: I've added two new foods: hot dogs and popcorn! Well, it's sort of popcorn. After doing some research, I found that in real life, some popcorn-like foods can be made by popping seeds instead of corn. So instead of PopCORN, I've added PopTORCH, made by placing Torchflower Seeds on a campfire. The recipes for these will appear when picking up the seeds and a steak respectively.
- Advancements: Firstly, there's one brand new advancement to go with the old "Overpowered" advancement I added back into the game. This one is "Over-overpowered," and you get it if you find an Enchanted Diamond Apple in an End City! Also, some vanilla advancements have been fixed so that they won't be activated if you get a Vanilla+ item. For example, the "Suit Up" advancement will now only be activated if you make Iron Armor, not Copper Armor.
One last thing: after several months, I've finally updated Vanilla++! It adds two more structures: Abandoned Campsites! If you're interested in using Vanilla+ on a server that's not Minecraft Realms, be sure to download Vanilla++ for the extra structures! Check it out here!
Bug Fix Update! NOTE: if you downloaded this on May 25th, PLEASE REDOWNLOAD!! Some more critical bugs have been fixed!!
Okay, not much has changed with this, but ideally all issues with Crafting should be resolved, as the data pack now uses its own namespace instead of residing in Minecraft's namespace. That may not mean much to most of you, but basically it means that compatibility with other mods and data packs should be much less of an issue now!
Additionally, there's been a couple small Advancement tweaks; you now no longer receive both the Diamond and Emerald Armor advancements if you craft Emerald Armor first, and the Monster Hunter advancement icon has been reverted to its Vanilla icon instead of the bone I had changed it to. That's it!
All new Weapons and some more Changes!
- Spears: New weapon type added! These have low attack power and low durability, but high attack speed and attack range. Ideal for crowd control, if there are several enemies coming towards you, take out a Spear and start stabbing! The weakest is the Battlestaff, which is just 3 sticks in a diagonal line. It offers no extra attack power. Then, Gold, Resin, and Quartz spears offer +2 power but with a measly 50 durability. Iron, Copper, and Amethyst spears have +1.5 power but with better durability, then it upgrades again with Diamond and Emerald spears, and finally the Netherite Spear is the most powerful at +3 attack power and 200 durability.
- Removals: I've decided to remove Medallions and Scrolls. Instead, these recipes are now naturally unlocked like other Minecraft recipes are, by picking up certain materials. Alternatively, if you want to skip straight to having the recipes for certain items, I've added /trigger commands that unlocks different recipe categories. This is different from the Creative Mode function commands I added in the last update, as these can be used in Survival. They're entirely optional; if you want to discover everything naturally I highly recommend it, but if you just wanna start playing around, unlock everything from the beginning!
- Misc. Changes: the Nether Star Sword has been fixed so that it will mine bamboo and other sword-specific blocks correctly again. Also, this one isn't really a change and instead more of a teaser: I'm going to be looking into a way to dye things like Elytra, Bundles, and Books without losing their data and enchantments. It may mean I have to use Smithing Tables, but it would definitely be better than resetting each item. Mojang, if you're reading this, MAKE IT SO THE TRANSMUTE CRAFTING OPTION CAN SUPPORT MULTIPLE INGREDIENTS!!!
Sorry for the long wait, but Vanilla+ is back!
Lots of new content in this update for you all, and it's for the soon-to-be-released Java Edition 1.21.5!
- Creative Mode Functions: Several people have been requesting this, and I've added several functions accessible with the /function command that will deposit items from the pack on the ground nearby! There's one for hats, for food, for gear, and for extra items. There's also a function for revealing the unique dye combinations for Books, Elytra, and Bundles. I may make that accessible in Survival Mode in the future as well! I did NOT make functions for getting every single dyed variant of Elytra, Books, and Bundles because those are mostly easy to figure out on their own. Let me know if I should!
- Food: Two new food items, the Fried Egg and Toast, are new in this update! Fried Eggs can be crafted by putting any time of Chicken egg on a campfire, and Toast can be made by putting a single Wheat on a campfire.
- Gear & Hat Changes: Any issues previously present with Nether Star Gear should be worked out now! Nether Star Pickaxes now have +50 Mining Efficiency, meaning that with Efficiency V and a Haste II Beacon, you can now insta-mine deepslate! Additionally, the Copper Chestplate now gives 5 armor points, making the whole set just a little weaker than Iron Armor. Amethyst Gear is also now made just by putting an Amethyst Shard in a Smithing Table with Netherite Gear. This is to streamline the crafting process. Finally, there is a new hat based on The Legend of Zelda: the Cap of Awakening!
- Final Misc. Changes: The food, armor, and tools in the recipe book will now be more accurate to how recipes in the game are laid out in Vanilla. Unfortunately this does mean that you may have to use Medallions and Scrolls again to get these recipes back, but my brain made me have to arrange them correctly, so, sorry. One other thing: the "A Balanced Diet" advancement now includes all custom food items, making it a much trickier advancement to complete.
Happy New Year! More hats are here!
As a treat for the new year, there are now more hat options! Their recipes are unlocked upon picking up leather.
- More Hats: I've added 3 more types of wintery hats, two types of Top Hats, and several hats based on the video game series of Mario and Zelda! These are Yoshi heads, Toad hats, and two Link caps.
- Additionally, the Mushroom items are now 3D models. Wearing them will now give the appearance of you wearing a Toad hat that's the color of said Mushroom.
Merry, MERRY Christmas! One last update before the holiday arrives!
As a Christmas treat for you all, I'm releasing a new update with TONS of new stuff! Here's the full list:
- Nether Star Gear: That's right, there's an entirely new material at play here! I've added Smithing Table recipes for the Nether Star, which can be used to upgrade your Netherite gear into an even more impressive set of armor! It offers more durability, more knockback resistance, and better armor toughness! Not only that, there's Nether Star tools and weapons too! They all have better stats than Netherite tools. Just know that you'll need to beat a lot of Withers for these; although, that'll net you some Heart Containers too, so not a bad investment at all!
- Hats: After some experiments with figuring out how to 3D model using Blockbench, I've added 35 hats to the game! They're all beanies, and they have the same color options that all other custom items have. Additionally, the Santa Hat from last update is now a 3D model instead of being an Armor-like texture.
- Texture Changes: these small, but there's been some slight tweaks to some Elytra textures and the banana texture has been redone.
