Percy’s Annotation Kit is a datapack with a few useful items to add lore and customise the styling of your item names!
Pigment
Pigment is used to change the colour of a custom name on any renamed item.
To craft Pigment, place any dye and an empty bottle in a crafting. This is a shapeless crafting recipe which yields Pigment in the colour of the dye you used.
To use Pigment, hold it in your mainhand and any renamed item in your offhand. Interact (right-click by default) with the Pigment to set the item’s custom name colour to the Pigment’s colour. When not in creative mode, the Pigment is consumed and an empty bottle is given to the player.
Annotation Kit
The Annotation Kit is crafted by placing the following items in a crafting grid:
- A bundle (undyed)
- Glass Bottle
- Ink Sac
- Feather
It's a shapeless crafting recipe, so it doesn't matter where you place the items in the crafting grid.
Note: Using an existing bundle for this crafting recipe will overwrite all items inside. Make sure you use an empty bundle. Be careful!
Inside your Annotation Kit, you’ll find the following items:
- Ink Pot
- Quill
Ink Pot
The Ink Pot lets you toggle styles of the custom name of an item.
Styles are:
- Bold
- Italic
- Underlined
- Strikethrough
- Obfuscated
Interacting with the Ink Pot while not holding an item in your offhand cycles between styles. This is reflected in the name of the Ink Pot.
Interacting with the Ink Pot in your mainhand and a renamed item in your offhand toggles the selected style on the custom name of the item in your offhand.
Quill
Interacting with the Quill in your mainhand and a renamed item in your offhand sets the custom name of that item to its lore.
Once the lore has been set, the custom name is removed.
Lore is appended so you can add multiple lines of lore by repeating this process.
