Effect changes and fixes
- One Hit Knockout: Fixed the effect also applying 'Extra Health Bar'
- Weapon Roulette: Added a message letting know players that only the weapons given by Weapon Roulette can be used to attack. Also removed Bow and Crossbow from possible items
- Spawn Ghast: Now has a 1 in 4 chance to spawn a Happy Ghast with Harness equipped
- Spawn Skeleton: The type of Skeleton is now random
- Spawn Zombie: The type of Zombie is now random
- Spawn Strider: Now has a Saddle equipped and comes with a Warped Fungus on a Stick
- Spawn Spider: Now has a 1 in 4 chance to spawn a Cave Spider
Hey y'all! I'm back with another update, this time giving the datapack compatibility with the newest release version of Minecraft while also adding new effects and changes. Enjoy :)
Added 10 new effects, for a total of 190 effects!
- Spawn Phantom Riders
- Gain or Lose a Heart
- Crooked Box
- Players Spawn a Mob When Hit
- Mobs Float When Hit
- Random Size When Hit
- Infested
- Mounts of Mayhem
- Ice Walker
- Randomize Mob Stats
Effect changes and fixes
- Wither Storm: increased the spawning speed and amount of skulls
- Unknown Effects: added a new message that explains what the effect does
- Ocean Man: fall damage is now disabled while the effect is active
- Full Iron/Gold/Diamond Zombies: the chance for them to drop their held offhand item is now guaranteed
- Portal Crossbow: fixed the item not working upon being enchanted by the effect 'Enchant Held Items'
- Spawn Random Mob: now it spawns a different mob for each player
- Teleport to 00 & Random Teleport: fixed the player not getting properly teleported to 00 and improved teleport locations in the Nether for both effects
- Grow Up: now you can walk up 1 block while the effect is active
- Poisonous Water: now poisons the player if touched by the rain
- Clear Weather: Now clears certain related effects to "weather"
- Added Spears as possible items to effects such as Randomize Mob Equipment & Weapon Roulette
- Arrow Storm, Anvil Apocalypse, TNT Rain & Wither Storm: now work properly in the Nether dimension
Update 1.4.2
Small update for the recent Copper Age drop :)
- Made the datapack functional for Minecraft 1.21.9 and 1.21.10
- Added more items for some effects
- Added copper armor and tools to effects that give random items to the player and mobs
Bug fixes
- Fixed a bug where the timers for the effects 'Adventure Mode', 'All Zombies are babies' & 'Charged Creepers' would never run out and go into negative values
- Fixed 'Adventure Mode' not changing the gamemode back to survival
New UI with Dialogs
Instead of selecting all your settings in the chat, now you can just use actual menus thanks to the new dialog system.
In order to open the datapack's main menu, press 'G' (as the default keybind) or pause the game and select Minecraft Chaos
Here you can start the datapack by selecting your timer settings and modifiers, stop the chaos (the command /trigger chaos.stop still works), take a look at the credits, and check my socials.
Added 5 new effects, for a total of 180 effects!
I'm really struggling with each update to come up with new effect ideas... but here are some I could make!
- Portal Crossbow (probably the most detailed effect I've ever made)
- Disable One Movement Key
- Enchant Held Items
- Corrupt Item Textures
- Blow Up All Mobs
Effect Changes & Bug Fixes
- Effects that spawn structures or replace blocks will now drop the contents of containers such as chests, furnaces, shulker boxes etc. if these blocks are replaced
- Spawn Stronghold: Made it more obvious what the effect does
- Corruption: Reduced the amount of corruption for better performance
- Ghost Rider: The player will be set to riding the pig as the effect gets applied
- Spawn Creeper?: Made it a little scarier
- High Pitch Music: Lowered the volume even more
- Teleport to the Nether: Fixed an oversight that could get players killed if the effect applied while being on a negative Y layer - improved safety measures too
- Adventure Mode: Reduced effect length to 60 seconds
- Flip: Fixed glowing colors on the armor stands and made them small
- Move or Die: Improved movement detection
- Summon an Eye of Ender: Entirely reworked due to the idea working poorly. Will now spawn an Enderman with increased health/speed/strength, has guaranteed chance to drop an Ender Pearl and a 1 in 4 chance to drop an Eye of Ender
- juan: Buffed juan
- Fixed the datapack duplicating all effects and messages upon rejoining the world
- Added a death counter
