Changelog
This update is the largest one yet, including a complete overhaul of every quest in the game and with hundreds of other changes for playability, immersion, optimization, and more! However, it is NOT backwards-compatible with 1.4.X versions. There have been significant changes to the world generation, quests, and mod list, that will cause issues if you play a 1.4.X world on 1.5.X, so BACK UP YOUR SAVE FILES.
If you have questions, join our Discord server.
Migration Information:
Upon joining a world created before the update, the following changes will be made, permanently altering the game and breaking most automation from pre-1.5.X. If you want to play with an old world on the new version, BACK UP YOUR WORLD. This is very important!
- All Pipez Pipes and XNet cables will be removed
- All concrete slabs and stairs (used on part of the previous ship design) will be removed. If it is night, this will likely result in mobs being able to get into the ship!
- All chests in visited cities will be removed, newly generated cities will be unaffected
- All zombie jerky, spider eye soup, string armor, and wood armor will be removed, but new versions can still be crafted
- All slab machines will be removed
- All Farmer’s Delight and Thermal Cultivation foods and crops will be removed
- All Item Collectors, Magnets, and Trash cans will be removed
Quest Changes:
Every single quest in the game has been rewritten with consistent styling and they have all been restructured to focus on smooth progression and aesthetics. I tried to strike a balance between not forcing the player to do things in a certain way but still but guiding their progression, as well as avoiding hand-holding too much, but still providing detailed descriptions for new players. There are too many changes to cover here, but an abbreviated recap of the major changes can be found below.
- Introduction:
- Replaced description text with a in-world description of your situation, from the perspective of your Multipurpose Assistance Terminal.
- Redesigned quest book (see visual changes below)
- Added brief descriptions for each quest line
- Most quest lines now use “Reversed Triggers” for the quests, meaning new quests appear as you play instead of being visible from the start
- Basic Survival:
- Reorganized entire quest line to progress from left to right and with more aesthetics and less crossing over itself
- This is arguably the most significant quest line so the following is a detailed breakdown of the changes:
